Trick Or Treat

Carter and I headed out for our Halloween adventure just as darkness fell on downtown Raleigh. Ghouls and goblins abounded on the streets of the Mordecai neighborhood, but we were not to be deterred in our quest.

What does a monkey do when he's happy? Well, let me show you!
All that running from house to house and saying "Trick or Treat" can make a monkey and a big green monster quite hungry. Luckily, we were able to stop for a snack. Mmmm, candy corn...
Cutest Monkey Ever

Addition Update 30Oct07

Thanks to some soft dirt, we need to have another footing inspection done - but only after Jon does some more digging. I tell you, I could watch a digger all day long!

Punkin Head

Coen Comes To Visit

Yesterday, I made a new friend. Coen came to visit with his Mommy and Daddy. I wish we had more pictures, but we were having such a good time, we forgot to take more. I hope we get to visit with them lots more in the future!

Monkeying Around

Halloween started a little early this year. This past Saturday, we met up with a bunch of other Trick-or-Treaters for a little Trunk or Treat.
I can tell you one thing - Monkey Boy had a great time!

Trunk or Treat

Carter and I hit the trunks to see what's in store.

Anybody recognize this trunk?

Celebration Time

Carter won an award for his costume. It was a really nice orangey ribbon.
Hey, I won one, too.
Time to celebrate with some of our patented dance moves!

These Boots

These boots were made for dancing...

Rain, Rain Go Away!

According to Jon, the rain showed up last Wednesday at "the worst possible time". This will end up delaying the footing inspection for almost a week, but Jon's pretty sure we can make that up in the next couple of weeks with pouring and framing.
Where did that drought go?

Addition Update

Last week, Carter and I got to do a little landscaping (don't tell Jon).Up, up and away!
On the inside, Daddy had to do a little home repair of his own. Due to some over-exuberant hammering on the outside, the window in Mommy and Daddy's bedroom decided to migrate farther inside. Luckily, duct tape fixes anything!

Punkin Fun

Carter and I took our Mommies to a pumpkin patch last week.

Lake Eden Arts Festival

The weekend of October 19 - 21st we went to a really cool festival in Black Mountain, NC called the Lake Eden Arts Festival...
Better known as LEAF
What a beautiful setting.
Lots of things to do (note: the green slide on the left is called The Gullywasher and goes up the mountain so high you can't see the top - what you can't see is the zipline that zips its passengers right into the lake!).
One of the many music venues was the Lakeside tent. Hula hoops abounded outside the tent for anyone interested in playing with them.
And, of course, soaking up the mountain air and sun with Mommy is always a good time!

Fun Stuff for Kids at LEAF

A public service message to organizers of any event which will be attended by children age 5 and under: You Can't Go Wrong With Bubbles
Hula Hoops are another good distraction.
Just ask my new buddy, Oliver.
Of course, when at LEAF, you gotta get musical!
Keeping the morning fun.

Snuggle, Eat and Sleep at LEAF

Mommy always knows how to make me laugh. You might say that when it comes to tickling my funny bone, she's "right on target"...
Of course, I'm pretty good at making her laugh, too!
Mornings are for snuggling - especially when it's 45 degrees out.
Car camping does have its advantages...
You gotta get to bed early if you're going to wake Mommy and Daddy up at 6am!
