Happy Birthday, Mommy!

The last time Gammy came to town, we had lots to celebrate. It was Mommy's birthday and we also celebrated my half-birthday ( I didn't even know I had a half-birthday, but now I can't wait for my three-quarters birthday). Just before I snatched it off my head, Daddy managed to get this picture of me with my Elmo hat on (those birthday hat rubber bands are no fun).
Although we spent most of the weekend celebrating Mommy's birthday (and I, for one, think she deserves lots and lots of celebrating), Gammy did bring a couple of half-bday presents for me.
Yup, I've even got a new toothbrush.
Then I helped Mommy open her gifts - I like to help Mommy whenever I can because she's so nice to me.

I Love You, Mommy. Happy Birthday!!! (even if we are posting this a little late...oops)

Half Birthday

Helping me celebrate my half-birthday, Gammy gave me a ride on her wheeled luggage - upside down, no less! Wheeeeee!
I even got to watch some Elmo - here I am with one of my biodegradeable balloons from Trader Joe's.
And then, of course, the cake. It was such a special cake, it even had it's own name: Midnight Delight. As you can probably tell from my face, it was really, really, really good!.

Visiting With Sarah and Kim

A couple of weeks ago (yes, it's been a while), we went over to our friend Sarah's house for dinner. While we were there, I got to do a bunch of fun things.
Before the fun started, though, Daddy made me clean up Sarah's screened-in porch.
Just kidding. I don't know why, but I love to sweep. Sarah said I could come over every weekend if I wanted to - she's really nice!
After I finished sweeping, Sarah brought out this big blue bag o' beans for me to sit on. I don't think I ever actually sat on it, but it definitely got a workout from me.

There are few things in life more fun than face-planting into a big, soft beanbag. I could just do it over and over and over and over and over and over... ;-)

Our friend Kim also joined us for dinner. She came all the way from Sandy Eggo just to see me. Well, OK, that's not the only reason she was in town (she also had something called a "meeting" to go to). At least it gave us a good reason to get together for dinner. I had not met Kim before, but she seems like she really likes kids, so she's A-ok with me. As you can see, she had no problem making me smile! Take care, Kim and I hope we see you again soon.

Sarah, thanks so much for inviting us over!

Beach Vacation

At the beginning of August, we joined Grandma Jean, Cinny, Daisy, Uncle Kevin, Uncle Stephen, Aunt Dawn, Autumn and Max for a very long weekend at the beach. We stayed at a beach house called Dock Holiday on North Topsail Island.
Here's a view of Dock Holiday from, of all things, the dock.
Here are a couple of shots looking over the marsh and intracoastal waterway behind the house.
Not a bad way to watch the sun set.

Fun at The Beach House

Luckily, a beach ball is just the kind of ball that a guy like me is allowed to throw in the house.
Autumn even liked playing trucks with me!
Wow, getting that last one on can be tough!
Thanks, Uncle Kev. Standing up made that MUCH easier!

More Fun at Dock Holiday

As always, I enjoy every pasta noodle...
Uncle Kevin and Cousin Max cruising the internet.
I love my doggy!!! I'm so glad Sugar, Daisy and Cinny came along!
Of course, waiting for dinner can be fun, too.
I love books and love it when people read with me. Thank you, Autie!

On The Beach

As I mentioned in an earlier post, the average daily temperature while we were at the beach was right around "really hot". Evidently, Daddy didn't take that into consideration when he attempted to take pictures at the beach soon after leaving the nice, cool house. Luckily, the lens didn't fog up for ALL of the beach pictures (just most of them). Grandma is the lucky one this time - the pictures with her in them turned out just fine.
Here we are chasing sandpipers.
Here, Grandma and I pose in front of the waves.
It only took me a couple of minutes to remember that I really like the ocean. The waves can be pretty big and scary at first, but as long as I have family around, I know I don't have anything to worry about. I had a great time running around in the sand and in the water, searching for pretty shells and stones for Mommy, jumping over the waves as they crashed below me - and I even got to cruise around on a real Boogie Board!

Mr. Bump

I made a new friend recently. His name is Mr. Bump and he lives in our refrigerator. Mommy introduced him to me when I bonked my head a couple of days ago. I gave Mr. Bump my usual greeting and then Mommy showed me how Mr. Bump likes to hug your boo-boo until it's all better. I like Mr. Bump and I hope he likes living in our refrigerator.

Weekend at Home with Daddy

Mommy is off this weekend at a wedding in Wisconsin. That means that Daddy and I are Home Alone!!! This is what the house looks like at 1am. Don't worry, it will be cleaned up by the time Mommy gets home...
Sometimes, Daddy and I walk around with buckets on our heads. You know, guy stuff.
Disclaimer: These pictures were actually taken when Mommy was home. Although neither Daddy nor I have remembered to take the camera out this entire weekend, this is a pretty fair representation of how things go when the boys are in charge.
