Trains, Tools and Two for Breakfast

Arriving home from Mexico at 1:00 am, a certain someone stood in the doorway to the new family room and reminded Mommy and Daddy of their promise to set something up once the addition was done and the carpet laid - "I play train table now?"
When informed that the train table setup would have to wait until the next night, he took it in stride, smiled slyly and commenced to running around and around in big, carpeted circles until collapsing on the floor - dizzy and laughing uncontrollably at a simple delight previously impossible in our house.
The trains are now rolling smoothly on the Island of Sodor.
If repairs are needed, though - Mr. Fix-It is on the job.
Enjoying the new breakfast bar.
Many thanks to John, Jon, Rich, Luis, Irving and the rest of the people whose expertise produced such a warm and comfortable place for our family to enjoy time together.

Beach Boy, Zihua-style

Good thing this guy's got a hat - that sun is intense.
Oh, and don't forget the shades...

Life's A Beach

Even if you don't feel like going in the water, there's no shortage of things to amuse you on the beach here in Mexico (or "Messico" if you are two years old).
Who needs water?

Vacation Glimpses

Can I help you?
Look out, Mommy! There's a cruise ship right over your head!!!
Yo, Zihua rocks
Hangin' poolside with Thomas and Harold
The Villa Eclipse Ice Cream Parlor (where they also serve veggie dogs, popcorn, candy, chocolate and an assortment of refreshing beverages).

Relaxing at Las Villas Eclipse

Love those lizards!
Relaxing by the pool.
Oops, excuse me. That's what I get for drinking my margarita through a straw...
Tousled hair poolside - my rugged, yet relaxed look.
Guess who put his own shoes on this morning.

Zihuatanejo Scenery

We went up to La Escollera for snacks, drinks and swimming a couple of times during the week. As you can see, they have an infinity pool by the bar - and boy did we take advantage of that!

Unfortunately, the view from the pool wasn't all that great... ;-)
Most mornings, we walked down the beach (the crescent of sand in the picture above) to have breakfast at one of the hotel restaurants. Much to our delight, the breakfasts were wonderful - as were the views of the surrounding trees and mountains.

Valentine's Dinner in Mexico

With Popi and Nana at dinner.
We walked up to this really nice restaurant for dinner on Valentine's Day. It was convenient that it was so close and the people who worked at the hotel were really nice to us all week long. They helped us get taxis when we needed them and they really liked smiling with Addie.
After dinner, we did a little Mexican dancing to celebrate. Of course, none of us know any actual Mexican dances, but since we were in Mexico we figure this counts.
Even though it was late by the time dinner was done, some guys have the energy to go all night.

Digging the Beach

Uncle Keith likes to dig in the sand, too.

Bye bye, big boat.

Before and After

This is how the bedroom looked before Jo, Amanda and Addie arrived.
And then, seemingly minutes after they arrived, the bedroom looked like this...
Thanks!!!

The Newest Addition To The Family

The shower includes a foot massage

The vanity it took us forever to find... but boy, are we glad we waited.

The play/family room

And the best part of the whole addition?

Finally, I have a closet in my bedroom!!!
